So you downloaded an app and you’re ready to date online. As a guy the odds are stacked against you because the ratio of men to women are disproportionate in the woman’s favor on most sites. However, most guys you are competing with online don’t seek advice to date on an app so a few tweaks can go a long way in your favor. McDonalds doesn’t have the best hamburgers but they sell the most because people want them. You may not be the best man on a dating app but you can increase your desirability.
Know the kind of person you want to date. Do you like athletic women, educated women or musicians? There’s plenty of single woman in your city with the qualities you are looking for and you just need to know how to attract them. Your pictures and your bio should reflect what you’re looking for. If you aren’t attracting what you are looking for, you will need to adjust your bio. If you keep doing what you’re always doing, you will get the results you’re always getting so change it up. It’s like marketing, keep things short and sweet but entertaining.
Take nice pictures where you are smiling. You’ll have more success if you look friendly and active. You should have pictures where you are obviously at a social gathering but you should be the only person in the picture. If possible, have one picture where you are in a suit. Do not post pictures where you have to cover the face of the person beside you. If you are looking for a fishing buddy, go ahead and post that fish pic. If you only like fishing with the boys, put up a different picture of doing something you want to do with your future partner.
You will have the best chance of success if you are honest and genuine. Be real and upfront with what you are looking for and who you are. You don’t have to reveal your whole life story in your bio or when you match with someone. More mystery and less history is the key. Personal questions should be face to face and meeting in person. When you do match, be confident in yourself because you’ve put in the work to be a better version of yourself and you’ll find what you are looking for.
